Underwriters
Responsibilities:
- Verify loan credit attributes fall within appropriate guidelines,
including debt to income ratios, LTV/
CLTV restrictions, mortgage and credit histories
- Complete compliance
reviews for federal,
state and local regulations, including
TILA finance charge and APR tests,
loan high cost analysis, FNMA restrictions
and regulations, and predatory lending
statutes, as well as be able to extrapolate data from
compliance disclosures
- Perform appraisal
reviews to determine quality and accuracy
of valuation
- Review title and deed documentation
to verify appropriate vesting and
ownership interest and appropriate
lien
history
- Work with quality control
and team leads to complete projects
on job level issues, including reviewing
data discrepancies

Skills necessary:
- General knowledge of mortgage underwriting standards and
practices
- Ability to work in fast paced
environment with consistent productivity
while maintaining a high level of quality,
accuracy and professionalism
- Flexibility-
ability to adapt to various work environments

Experience:
- 3+ years mortgage underwriting experience
- Experience with Prime,
Alt A, Sub prime paper and Scratch
and Dent
