Jennifer LaBud

Principal

Jennifer brings over 20 years of mortgage banking experience to Opus CMC.  Jennifer is a co-founder of Opus CMC and has served as a compliance expert since 1994.  She is well versed in federal, state and local predatory lending regulations and Regulation Z. Jennifer has been in the due diligence field for over 10 years and has a specific understanding of this niche market.  In addition to her strong technical skills, Jennifer's executive level of talent is key to a successful due diligence operation. Jennifer holds a BA in Business Administration from Illinois State University.

Joseph Andrea

Principal

With over 20 years of experience in the mortgage and real estate industries, Joe brings a record of leadership and executive administration.  As co-founder of Opus CMC, he is responsible for contract negotiations and operational oversight.  Prior to co-founding Opus CMC, Joe worked for eight years at a national due diligence firm, most recently serving as President. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker who has a strong background in both commercial and residential real estate which compliments his secondary market expertise.  Joe is responsible for the strategic development and corporate vision, and he continues to create a strategic edge by evaluating and managing the forces that drive performance and increase efficiency.  He holds a BS in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Arizona.

Rudy Zabran

Managing Director, Client Services

As Managing Director of Client Services and founding member of Opus Capital Markets Consultants, LLC, Rudy is responsible for Opus CMC’s customer relationship management.  His duties include business development and client/product implementation, however his primary focus is anticipating and understanding customer needs and working with the new and existing Opus CMC clients in developing the solutions necessary to meet them.  With over 10 years of experience in the due diligence services industry, serving a wide range of clients with a diverse set of interests, Rudy’s acumen for mortgage loan risk mitigation has been a catalyst for Opus CMC’s thriving success.  As a Senior Manager at Opus CMC, Rudy is focused on building the relationships and trust essential to forging a strong vendor/client partnership.  With a focus on “getting things done with discipline and integrity”, Rudy has a sincere passion for delivering value and benefit to Opus CMC’s clients and partners.

Max Carr

General Counsel

Max Carr serves as General Counsel at Opus CMC, where he oversees the company’s legal and compliance related matters. He brings broad experience in capital markets, securitization, labor and employment law, and regulatory compliance to Opus CMC.  Max has over 15 years of experience in the mortgage and finance industry, most recently serving as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. where, among other roles, he was responsible for implementation of the Dodd Frank Act, as well as the ABS, MBS and Whole Loan businesses for the broker dealer.  Prior to his time at HSBC, Max was with McKee Nelson LLP (now Bingham McCutchen LLP) where he was counsel to sponsors and underwriters on hundreds of billions in ABS issuances.

Early in his career, Max worked at Fannie Mae and the White House Office of Administration, Office of the General Counsel. Max holds a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from George Mason University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Jeff Rauland

Director, Valuation Services

As director, Jeff leads the Valuation Services Group at Opus. The group analyzes bulk transactions and performs forensic valuation reviews on portfolios for servicing, trading, and securitization. Jeff is an SRA-designated member of the Appraisal Institute, and a long-time supporter of the Collateral Risk Network. He has served in a number of roles from private practice to large institutions. Jeff comes to Opus from Goldman Sachs, where he managed valuation due diligence on trades and securitizations, as well as for the private wealth management group. In addition to the US, Jeff has established valuation review programs in Asia, Canada, and Brazil.

Chris Guidici

Managing Director of Operations

As Managing Director of Operations, Chris is responsible for coordinating and communicating information regarding the various activities, projects and potential projects of the various business units at Opus CMC. He is also responsible in an oversight capacity of the day-to-day business operational activities, including continually working to revise processes that will translate cost savings to our clients. With many years experience in secondary market due diligence, Chris brings an extensive knowledge of transaction management and loss mitigation strategies which are beneficial to both Opus CMC and the clients we serve. As a founding member of Opus CMC, Chris has also worked in the creation and implementation of proprietary software, as well as company processes to streamline workflows in order to better serve our clientele in the most efficient manner possible. 

Prior to joining Opus CMC, Chris served as a due diligence manager and client liaison for numerous investors. Chris developed expertise in the mortgage industry in the areas of credit, collateral, appraisal and compliance review, as well as reviews for quality control, which are vital to his role with Opus CMC.

Jawad Khan

Managing Director, Information Technology

Jawad Khan is an expert in Information Security Management for systems that stores and processes data for finance industry. He manages both large and mid-size system networks. He directs the physical and environmental security of facilities, business continuity programs (BCP), and also participates in business continuity (BC/DR) exercises. Jawad is responsible for the overall security posture at Opus CMC. He is a certified auditor of Information Systems (CISA). 

Jawad is a Sun Certified Java Developer who has architected and developed Due Diligence software systems and CRM systems. He regularly contributes to software development projects making him responsible for Opus CMC’s overall technology strategy and system development. He holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University. 

Prior to joining Opus CMC, Jawad architected and managed the development of a CRM system for a major on-line realty and loan brokerage company. He has 12 year of IT experience working in various industries including health care, real estate and as a consultant for Cap Gemini.

Roger Hale

Director

With over 10 years of experience in the mortgage and finance industries, Roger brings an in depth knowledge of due diligence and the vital role it plays in risk reduction strategies to investors. Roger serves as a liaison between Opus CMC clients, management and operations teams on all matters relating to regulatory compliance and is well versed in federal, state and local predatory lending legislation, as well as provisions outlined in Regulations Z and X. In addition to his regulatory compliance expertise, Roger also provides day to day management of Opus CMC’s staffing and training departments. 

As a founding member of Opus CMC, Roger has used his expertise in transaction consultation to continue and foster new and existing relationships with customers in the mortgage banking industry. Roger is also instrumental in the development of review procedures and the implementation of new technology platforms within Opus. Prior to joining Opus, Roger managed two underwriting facilities for a national due diligence firm. Having a thorough knowledge of credit and compliance reviews, Roger has consistently provided investors with the tools and information necessary to make informed decisions relating to the success of secondary market transactions. He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Harding University.
